Jody's:

We went to a friend's birthday party on Sunday, and Riley was loving playing with their dog. Happy Birthday, Cainen!

Riley and I went to a grand opening of a new shopping district in Gig Harbor today, and as we were eating lunch at a new pizza place (that has FAB pizza, BTW!), a balloon man was walking around making balloon creations for all the little ones. I think he sensed that Riley really wanted a balloon creation too, so he came over and made this "hat" for Riley. Rocket is afraid of it!

One of the benefits of getting up as early as I do to get to work - gorgeous sunrises! Happy Summer Solstice!

Photos from downtown Seattle! On my lunch hour I walked down to Lake Union to get a picture of this cool old ship in the harbor. Right behind it is the Virginia V, an old wooden steamer that was built in 1922 and was once used to transport passengers and cargo between Seattle and Tacoma. Ed and I went on this ship for an office function when I was pregnant with Riley 14 years ago.

The building I currently work in on the left, with the building I worked in at my last job on the right (with the flag).

Tonight's full moon over Tacoma, just peaking out from behind Mt. Rainier. An optical illusion made it appear bigger than life tonight.

Lots of pictures today! We woke up to a gorgeous day, not a cloud in the sky. Quite the contrast to the cold, cloudy week we previously had. Ed and I went for a nice walk down to our beach and the first thing we saw was this eagle perched on a piling. What an awesome way to start our Father's Day! We all had a great day together.

This heron was busy fishing for its breakfast.

I just love this beautiful old cherry tree!

Me and my honey enjoying our time at the beach.

When we got home, this beautiful buck was in our back yard, and we let Rocket outside for a while. The two were very curious about each other.

It's JUNuary! We had an amazing wind storm today - tree debris flying everywhere, and we lost our power for an hour or so. Awesome whitecaps on the water.

This weekend was the Maritime Gig Festival in Gig Harbor, and we went to watch the parade. I just loved this gal's outfit!

I left for Seattle for a job interview before Riley woke up, so he left me this precious note that he wrote the night before. It made my morning, giving me strength and determination. BTW, I got the job and I start on Monday! :)

I looked out the window and there was a deer sleeping in our yard.

After he woke up, I threw an apple near him and he dug in.

After eating the apple, the deer said, "Thanks!" and left.

Riley and I took a walk across the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge today. We made it about a third of the way across before deciding to turn back. The speeding traffic on one side and the huge drop to the water on the other side was a bit much for both of us!

A strange phenomenon: There was a strange rush of odd colored water slowly making its way from Tacoma up through the channel. I went down to the beach to investigate and it was a very strong current, the water was running like a river agains the "normal" water. My guess is that it was run off from melting snow in the mountains, rushing from the rivers into Puget Sound. I may never know what it actually was ...
